Livio Di Francesco
VICE PRESIDENT & GENERAL MANAGER
Livio Di Francesco has been appointed to the role of Vice President & General Manager for Paladin Labs as of Dec 19, 2016. Livio joined Paladin in May 2015 as Vice President, Finance, serving as the business segment’s Chief Financial Officer, with responsibility for Paladin’s financial planning, reporting and analysis around the segment’s financial results, along with the support of his talented team. Prior to joining Paladin, Livio held financial leadership positions at Rheinmetall Defence, Valeant Canada, Tyco Suppression Systems and Siemens Canada. Livio has a proven track record in acquisitions, consolidating of ERP platforms, and enhancing standardized reporting. Throughout his career, Livio has demonstrated a strong ability to solve complex business issues and has successfully built effective finance teams. Livio holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Accounting from Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec and completed the CMA designation in 1992.
VICE PRESIDENT, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Isabelle Trempe leads business development at Paladin Labs, encompassing merger and acquisitions, product licensing and acquisition efforts, new product evaluations, and alliance management. Prior to joining Paladin Labs, Ms. Trempe served as Senior Director, Business Development at Labopharm and during that time, completed a number of significant transactions, including securing licenses in the US, Japan, Latin America and Europe. In this role, she was also responsible for the establishing and leading the market research/market data group. Prior to joining Labopharm, Ms. Trempe held business development responsibilities at Elan Pharmaceuticals, based in San Francisco/San Diego, where she led several transactions, including product licensing, acquisitions, and divestitures. From 1996 to 2000, Ms. Trempe held business development positions at Los Angeles based Da Vita Healthcare. Her responsibilities included leading the specialty nephrology pharmacy division and M&A in the US and Europe, DaVita’s first foray into international markets. Ms. Trempe began her career in as an investment banking analyst, at Salomon Brothers in New York and Hong Kong. Ms. Trempe earned a bachelor degree Honors Business Administration (HBA) from Richard Ivey School of Business at Western and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
Jean De Serres
VP SCIENTIFIC AFFAIRS
Dr De Serres joined Paladin Labs in October 2014 as VP Scientific Affairs.
An MD by training with a M.Sc in public health and MBA in Bio-pharma industries, he has cofounded MedDiscovery, a Swiss biotech in urology, Biomilestones and Gestion BD, consulting firms in marketing for biopharmaceuticals. He is a board member of MedDiscovery, Cadens Medical Imaging and has served in the past on the board on multiple organizations such as BioQuebec, Montreal InVivo and the Canadian College of Family Physicians.
He was previously CEO at Héma-Quebec, an organization of 1300 employees and $400M in revenue where he launched the stem cells production including a new plant. He was named manager of the year in 2003 for his success in cost-efficiency and development.
He was previously VP R&D, Regulatory and In-licensing for Jubilant/Draximage/HolisterStier where he led the development and launch of products in imaging, oncology and allergy.
From 1999 to 2005, he was Medical Director and General Manager at CSL Behring with sales mostly in hematology and immunology. From 1996 to 1999, he was Director of public health in the Ottawa area. Previously, he was in charge of teaching units as McGill University and a practicing physician in emergency and family medicine. He has given over 1000 presentations on pharmaceuticals, medicine and management.
VP COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS
As Vice President of Commercial Operations at Paladin, Mike has overall responsibility for the success of all Marketing, Sales, Market Access and Pricing functions. Before joining Paladin, Mike held the position of Head of Sales with Eisai Canada and was a member of Eisai’s Executive Team. Prior to joining Eisai, Mike was the Director of Sales at GlaxoSmithKline, responsible for the Oncology and rare disease portfolios as well as the primary care business in Atlantic Canada.
Throughout his career, Mike has demonstrated a strong ability to solve complex business issues and achieve results through building exceptional teams. Mike holds a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of Western Ontario and continues to be an active volunteer in numerous charitable endeavors.
